Obama aka Bobby Fischer...

Throughout the two and a half years that President Obama has been in office, he has proven to be a lot of things. He's a father, a husband and a leader. But after seeing what he did to Donald Trump this past week, he's proven to be something else: a chess player. While Mr. Trump was running on a tangent, loving to hear himself speak and demanding to see a birth certificate, President Obama set him up as if he was Bobby Fischer. For those of you that don't know, Bobby Fischer was a world champion chess player who is widely considered to be one of the best of all time.

Any chess player will tell you that the game is all about patience and thinking three steps ahead. Over the past few weeks, as Trump ran his mouth, I often wondered when Obama was going to go back at him. I know he's the most powerful man in the free world and has a lot on his plate, but damn, a man can only take so much!

In a calculated move, Obama waited to go in on Trump at the Correspondents dinner, where there was an open forum for him to do so. It was the perfect environment for his retort because if he had did it anywhere else, someone (more than likely someone from The Fox Network) would have said, "The President should worry less about Trump and more about the economy."

Obama's actions this past week reminded me that, "life is chess, not checkers," and while Trump was jumping over the black checkers screaming King me, Obama was yelling, Checkmate!
