Paying Attention To Intentions....

Why does it seem that we never consider one's intention beforehand and end up being surprised when something goes down later on? I know it isn't right to assume or judge a book by it's cover, but wouldn't we avoid a lot of stress if we just paid attention to someones intentions when the opportunity presented itself? When considering a mate, we often tend to overlook certain "red flags" because the other things are so appealing. "Shorty is always in my pockets, but she got that fatty!" "Dude is gorgeous, but every time I see him he's always with a different woman." Of course there could be reasons behind each of these scenario's, but its safe to say that you can tell how these relationships may end based upon these observations in the beginning.

Nothing tells the truth more than time AND reading the clock on real standard time. It's been said that no matter the person, time will eventually show their intentions. What we fail to understand is that time may tell the truth, but it won't save you from heartache. Time may tell you the truth when you catch them cheating, or find out that the bills you thought were paid, really weren't, but then its too late. What we are not doing is seeing things for what they are and not for what we want them to be.

If what a person says or does raises your antennas, don't overlook it or see it as not being important. When we do that, we compromise ourselves and set ourselves up for heartbreak. Then when those red flags rear their ugly heads later down the line, we end up telling ourselves, "I told you so."

When we pay attention, truly pay attention to intentions, it may not be the, be all, end all to all our problems, but at least we'll have the opportunity to make decisions based upon reality and not perception.

Try it, your heart will thank you!
